YOUNGSTER BILINGUAL NEWSPAPER

Everywhere, every day, exciting things are happening. Each day is filled with news. People learn news and views while reading newspapers and magazines. The newspaper plays a big role in the life of the society. They inform, educate and entertain people. They also influence the way people look at the world and make them change their views. Communication with the masses is very important as it involves a very large number of people but communication with the self, with our friends and relatives, with the public is equally important. Keeping the importance of the media writing institute is actively publishing “Youngster” a bilingual monthly newspaper registered with RNI No. DEL/BIL/2004/14598 for Tecnia students, so that they can showcase their writing, reporting, editing and designing talent. The institute believes that motivated students can be a significant factor in the institute’s success. When students are motivated to work at higher levels of their Print Media skills and abilities, the institute as a whole runs more efficiently and is more effective at achieving its objectives and goals.

MISSION

“YOUNGSTER” empowers students to inform, educate and engage their community by producing innovative media and building positive relationships while protecting the integrity of our profession and meeting the challenges of an ever-changing industry.

OBJECTIVES

  1. To nurture and motivate the creativity of students.
  2. To inculcate hands-on experience in writing skills in students.
  3. To contribute towards knowledge generation and dissemination.
  4. To develop reporting, designing and editing skills in students.
  5. To encourage students to express their feelings and thoughts through media message they produce

THE PRACTICE

The Youngster has constituted the following rewards for its students.

  1. “Youngster” award best writer on monthly basis so that it can build the moral of the students. A student who scores the maximum marks is awarded as Best Writer.
  2. “Youngster” invites applications from all the students’ Editorial writing awards. The committee evaluates the Editorial submitted by students.
  3. “Youngster” provides an in-house internship to journalism students to nurture their journalistic talent.
  4. “Youngster” provides opportunities for ground reporting in different beats i.e. politics, health, sports, contemporary issues to journalism students so that they can enhance their reporting skills.
  5. This is the platform through which students will get an opportunity to interact with the experts from media and media education.
  6. “Youngster” conducts interviews of various media personalities.
  7. “Youngster” also encourages students to participate in mainstream media by writing letters or by joining some socially relevant campaigns initiated by the media.
  8. “Youngster” showcase the campus activities on a regular basis, like club activities, cultural, and academic fest
