The SRFLISindia was established in year 2009 by the research scholars and admire of Emeritus Professor, Dr. MP Satija, for the advancement and promotion of librarianship and LIS education in India having the sole objectives to- promote research and development activities in the Library and Information Science; organize seminars, workshops, competitions, training programmes and lectures in LIS; publish and promote scholarly LIS literature in India; and undertake research projects and extend scholarship to the poor students.
